APPROACHING HOME is an object work that structures the process of arriving at home through a layered form. Although it appears as a single house from the outside, the viewer must open its deep and narrow structure three times in order to reach the innermost image. This repeated act of opening functions not only as a way of looking inside, but also as a gesture of gradually approaching a private space. Through this gradual movement inward, the work reflects on both the physical and psychological distance between the city and the home. At its deepest layer, the viewer encounters an image of a person lying on a bed in a dark room, looking at a mobile phone. In this way, the work moves beyond the architectural idea of home and reveals a bodily state, or a moment, of complete withdrawal from the outside world.

APPROACHING HOME은 집으로 도달하는 과정을 중첩된 구조로 구성한 오브제 작업이다. 겉으로는 하나의 집처럼 보이지만, 관람자는 가장 안쪽의 이미지에 도달하기 위해 깊고 좁은 구조를 세 번에 걸쳐 열어야 한다. 이 반복적인 열기의 행위는 단순히 내부를 들여다보는 방식에 그치지 않고, 사적인 공간에 점차 가까이 다가가는 몸짓으로 작동한다. 이러한 점진적인 내부로의 이동을 통해, 이 작업은 도시와 집 사이에 존재하는 물리적 거리와 심리적 거리를 함께 성찰한다. 가장 깊숙한 층에서 관람자는 어두운 방 안 침대에 누워 휴대전화를 바라보는 한 인물의 이미지를 마주하게 된다. 이로써 작업은 집을 단순한 건축적 개념으로 머무르게 하지 않고, 외부 세계로부터 완전히 물러난 신체의 상태, 혹은 하나의 순간을 드러낸다.
